Looking for Candy Scott

So I started looking up the Shipyard in New Orleans, this is a dead end as the original company was sold to a new company in 1985. I have searched for Candy Scott in the New Orleans area and started calling around. Nothing yet. From the letter below I can see that she started her new job on Monday July 17, 1978.

What I don't know is if she was getting out of the US Air Force then or if she was still in. Any help in locating Candy Scott would be much appreciated. Maybe someone can go to a local library and look in the old phone books for 1979 and or old news papers or the likes to see if there is any mentioning of a Candy Scott. I know I'm grasping at thin air but it is all I have to go on.

Candy Scott is the only lead I have to find my family. I know Candy Scott was/is my mothers sister and that she had 3 children in 1978. The information I have on my birth is sketchy at best, my birth certificate indicates my last name was Nolan, yet I have a birthday card from my mother on my 6th birthday stating that their last name was Holt. From that card I found out I had a younger brother, Jim-boo, besides my two younger sisters, Deborah and Tracie.

What does this mean? Why is there 2 different last names? Was my mother not married when I was born? Did she get divorce and remarry giving her a new last name? Where are my siblings? Well the answer to that question is easy, I know for sure (because of my case worker) that both Deborah and Tracie were both adopted, or so I was told.

As you can see, my life doesn't add up and I need to find the missing links and piece it all back together so I know once and for all what happened to my family. Candy Scott is the key to all of it, if I can find her, I can find out who I was.

I know who I am now, and love my family, I have a beautiful wife and 2 great kids, Aaron and Athos. I attend UVU working on my BS in Digital Media while I await the times I can finish my BS in Chemistry/Physics so I can be a teacher.

Here is a letter I received from Aunt Candy Scott...

Looking for Candy Scott

Ok, so here goes, I have attached a picture of my Aunt, Candy Scott on the right side of the blog...

This was taken around Oct, 1978, if I remember correctly. Candy Scott was in the US Air Force at the time and is seen here in her uniform. Candy Scott had at this time 3 kids, Bucy, Patrick, and Steven Scott, I do not know their ages but I assume they would be about my age. I did some calculations and have figured that Candy Scott would be between 57 and 62 years old. I'm also attaching the last letter in which I received from her. Anything to help me find Candy Scott.

God Bless and thanks.

I'm looking for Candy Scott

Hello, this is going to be a long road for me. I am trying to find my family.

My name is now Joseph Oaks, I was born Joseph Nolan on or around Nov 6, 1970, in Van Nuys, CA. I have been given many different stories of my past, none of which add up when there put together. For certain, I was in and out of several foster homes prior to the age of 8 when I was adopted, in Houston, TX.

That is where this comes in, I am looking for Candy Scott. Candy Scott is the only member of my family I remember, because Candy Scott was the only family member at my adoption. Candy Scott was in the US Air Force at the time and I have a picture of Candy Scott in her uniform on that day.

Candy Scott is the sister of my mother, to whom I know nothing about, and even less about my father. As I scan documents into the computer I will post them and hopefully one day someone will have some information about Candy Scott.
